For either commercial or domestic use, surface dressing, also known as tar and chip surfacing, is a common choice, particularly for its long-lasting nature. South East Surfacing are seasoned professionals and extremely experienced when it comes to surface dressing. Before we undergo any works, a member of our trusted team will visit the site to measure up and advise on the best surfacing to meet your requirements and how we carry out the procedures; later followed by an emailed quotation.

Before works can begin, any damage such as cracks and holes have to be repaired. Once the surface is fully repaired, hot bitumen emulsion is sprayed onto the area; we are careful to protect any drainage systems or man-hole covers. Our chip-spreader then liberally scatters suitably sized chippings (dependent on the planned usage of the area); to finish the dressing, the surface is rolled.

Surface dressing is an ideal way to reinstate skid resistance and improve the overall appearance of the area as well as, reducing spray during wetter weather. The new layer improves the surface drainage of the road too – the bitumen secures the chippings and seals the road in order to avoid any water damaging the area’s foundations. Such features dramatically increase the lifespan of the surface providing a long term, cost effective answer, especially in terms of restoring and maintaining the surface. Due to such qualities, surface dressing is an ideal solution for footpaths, driveways and sports courts.
